How does face matching work?

When organisers upload photos, we detect faces in your browser and generate a small mathematical signature (embedding) for each one. When an attendee takes a selfie, we generate the same kind of signature and find photos with a close match — within that event only.

Do you store my selfie or face?

We store the mathematical embedding used for matching, not the raw selfie image. Face data is deleted along with the event photos when the retention period ends.

How long are photos kept?

By default, event photos are automatically deleted 30 days after upload. Organisers and admins can configure this retention period.

Matching works well for clear, well-lit photos. Heavy occlusion (sunglasses, masks), extreme angles, or low resolution can reduce accuracy.

Yes. Each event is isolated. Attendees can only see photos in events they were invited to, and only photos that match their face.

Attendees can download individual matched photos. Organisers can re-download originals from the dashboard while the event is active.

How to upload bulk photos?

Organisers have 3 options to upload photos in bulk from the event dashboard:

1. Upload Photos — click 'Upload photos' and select multiple images at once from your device.
2. Upload ZIP Folder — click 'Upload ZIP' and select one or more .zip archives; we'll automatically extract and process every image inside.
3. Google Drive Link — paste a Google Drive folder or file link with sharing set to 'Anyone with the link' enabled, and we'll fetch the photos directly from Drive.

Uploads run in parallel with a live progress bar, and you can keep adding batches until you reach your plan's monthly storage quota.

Which photo formats are supported for bulk upload?

We accept JPG, JPEG, PNG, WEBP and HEIC images. Any other file types selected (PDFs, videos, RAW files, documents, etc.) are skipped automatically and you'll see a warning listing what was ignored. For ZIP uploads we apply the same rule plus two extras: photos must sit at the top level of the archive (no nested subfolders) and only the supported image formats are imported — anything else inside the ZIP (other file types, nested folders, or empty archives) triggers a clear error message naming the offending entries so you can re-zip and try again. Each file should be under 50 MB; larger images are auto-compressed in the browser before upload.

How do I enable 'Anyone with the link' access for a Google Drive upload?

In Google Drive, right-click the folder (or file) you want to share and choose 'Share'. Under 'General access', change 'Restricted' to 'Anyone with the link' and set the role to 'Viewer'. Click 'Copy link' and paste it into the Google Drive upload field in your event dashboard.

If access is NOT granted (the link is still 'Restricted' or set to a specific domain/people), our servers cannot read the folder and the import will fail with a 'permission denied' or 'file not found' error — no photos will be uploaded. We never ask you to sign in to Google or share your account credentials; we only fetch files that the link itself makes publicly accessible. You can revoke access at any time by switching the link back to 'Restricted' after your photos have finished processing.
